Mariah started her early childhood career as an infant and toddler teacher in a child care center where her daughter attended. While working in child care, she learned the importance of providing positive social and emotional learning environments for young children. She completed her B.A. in Communications from Auburn University at Montgomery while working at the same center. In 2019, she joined the Alabama Partnership for Children as a T.E.A.C.H. Counselor, and in 2020, she earned her MBA from the University of West Alabama. In January 2023, Mariah Scarver was named to the T.E.A.C.H. Alabama Director role, where she can continue to support the ECE workforce across the state of Alabama.
