Alabama Partnership for Children is proud to partner with these programs.
The Alabama School Readiness Alliance (ASRA) is a statewide, nonprofit coalition advocating for the expansion of high-quality, voluntary pre-k. ASRA was formed in 2006 as a joint campaign of A+ Education Partnership, Alabama Giving, Alabama Partnership for Children, and VOICES for Alabama’s Children. ASRA’s mission is to close student achievement gaps by ensuring that all children enter school ready to learn. We build support for pre-k expansion by: collaborating with community and civic leaders; raising public awareness of the need for and effectiveness of Alabama’s high-quality, voluntary First Class Pre-K program; and advocating for increased state, local and private investments in high-quality, voluntary pre-k.
Don’t Be In The Dark About Child Care is a statewide public awareness campaign of the Alabama Partnership for Children and VOICES for Alabama’s Children to inform the community about our state’s dual system of child care. In Alabama, there are licensed child care centers that are annually inspected by the Department of Human Resources to ensure minimum health & safety standards are met; and there are exempt child care centers that legally operate un-inspected and unregulated from the minimum health and safety standards. Don’t Be In The Dark About Child Care public awareness efforts are intended to inform the community of the growing health and safety crisis in Alabama’s child care system, and to direct those choosing child care to resources that will help them select the best option for their family.
